The Callisto Protocol caused a lot of ink to flow when it was released last week. Striking Distance Studio’s game stood out for several reasons, including framerate drops and ray-traced flare missing on Xbox Series X. The studio promised to rectify the situation, and a new update is available for download now.
Ray tracing reflections available on Xbox Series X
It is via a message posted on
Twitter that we learn that a new update is available. If it fixes various bugs on all console versions, it also brings ray tracing reflections to Xbox Series X:
Today we released patches for all versions of The Callisto Protocol for consoles, with bug fixes and improvements, including enabling reflections via ray tracing on Xbox Series X. We are working on optimizations daily for all platforms and we welcome your feedback. Thank you for your patience.
Earlier this week, the studio was already deploying a premier patch aimed at improving performance, and indicated working on the arrival of ray tracing on Xbox. He kept his promise and Xbox Series X players should now be able to enjoy The Callisto Protocol under the same conditions as PS5 players.
Remember that the game is available on Xbox Series X | S, PS5 and PC, but also on Xbox One and PS4 and that other updates are already planned.
