Dead Space is a franchise that a lot of gamers miss a lot and for a whole lot of good reasons. While waiting for the remake, The Callisto Protocol finally shows itself with valuable images and information. And it’s probably gone well.
After Dead Space
Dead Space is a saga that marked the spirits with a hot iron: anxiety-provoking, intelligent and at the time handsome as hell, Visceral Game’s games are safe bets. Only here, the third and last episode to date (which is not the best, moreover) dates all the same from 2013 and since then… Isaac Clarke is missed. Terribly.
So of course Electronic Arts has already confirmed the remake of the first flight which will arrive at the beginning of next year and of which much is expected. Until then, fans of the genre can fall back on The Callisto Protocol, a big-budget horror game from new studio Striking Distance. Lhe man at the helm is none other than Gen A. Schofield, the creator of Dead Space himself and the former director of Visceral Games. And this brand new beautiful project is clearly reminiscent of the adventures of our unfortunate engineer.
Sceenshots and info!
Years following the first trailer (to be found in our video player at the beginning of the article) and a long teasing moment, the time has finally come to find out more regarding The Callisto Protocol. The game has just made the cover of Game Informer magazine, which then reveals some crisp details: first of all and as a reminder, you should know that we play Jacob Lee, a man trapped in a winding prison on Jupiter’s second largest moon.
We will therefore face enemies called the Biophages. : the first screenshots directly echo the famous necromorphs of Dead Space, the appearance of opponents adopting tortured and mortified forms. As Isaac Clarke might do, Jacob Lee will be able to move objects from a distance using telekinesis : we imagine that it will be used in particular for the fights. These can also be done at a distance or in close combat.
We also learn that The Callisto Protocol will build a trying adventure, qualified as “maximum horror experience”, just that. Enough to inspire survival horror aficionados.
Other information and not the least, the title will be released in 2022 on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series, but also on PlayStation 4 and Xbox Oneplatforms that were still missing until now.
We still don’t have any gameplay to sink our teeth into.t but we can already bet on an exhibition during the Summer Game Fest, which will take place in June. Fingers crossed to be pleasantly surprised.
