The “Cairo Image Week” activities are continuing in the Egyptian capital, organized by the “Photobia” independent school of photography, through the holding of a series of exhibitions and workshops that deal with all aspects related to the image industry.

Marwa Abu Leila, founder of the “Photobia” school and the general coordinator of this event, says that these events are held every two years with the participation of specialists and creators in the field of photojournalism, cinematography and documentaries, to help in knowing what is new in the field of cameras, lighting equipment and studios.

This year’s session is distinguished by the participation of the “World Press Photo” institution, which returns its specialized exhibitions to Egypt, following an absence of regarding 15 years since the last exhibition held in 2008, as it displays 23 winning photos in the last year’s competition 2022 from different parts of the world, in addition to an exhibition A technician specializing in the field of combating climate change, and another entitled Cinema and Love.

The events also include an exhibition of the late photojournalist Farouk Ibrahim, who is a personal photographer for some Egyptian presidents, most notably the late President Anwar Sadat, and his photos reflect documentation of various aspects of the ordinary lifestyles of Egyptians during the seventies until the beginning of the current century.
