A bike with a motorcycle look, the geometry of a mountain bike, with or without electric assistance and fully customizable. The brand’s Cafe Racer Aevon Bikes is a new kid on the bike market. Its marketing has just started following three years of development.
The name Cafe Racer echoes England in the 60s. Back then, a cafe racer was a sleek motorcycle that allowed you to travel from cafe to cafe.
Over 10 years of bicycle electrification
But this bike didn’t come out of nowhere. It was imagined by the manager of a company specializing in the electrification of bicycles since 2009, Cycloboost in Bordeaux. “At the time, we were the first in France to carry out this kind of transformation. We were also seen as extraterrestrials. But customers were not mistaken. The success was quite rapid,” explains Frank Deycard, founder of Cycloboost. I
The company also offers luggage trailers for bicycles. “In the same way that we can revisit a cooking recipe, we decided to create a bicycle from the ingredients of the trailer”, explains Frank Deycard.
The pleasure of solving problems
What guides him? ” Pleasure. This bike is really fun but I know it’s not just going to please me. Frank Deycard, a computer engineer, admits finding intense pleasure in solving problems. “Already, solving my personal need to be able to go to work quickly and efficiently is a great satisfaction. The fact of having made it my job is another. Then there is all the development of projects with, each time, problems to solve”, enthuses Frank Deycard.
Because the Cafe Racer is just one stop. “A very nice step, but a step,” he says without revealing more regarding his future projects. “There will always be two wheels! he simply declares.
