The Buick Encore GX will arrive updated for the 2024 model

The Encore GX is updated for 2024 with a revised exterior and new interior that invokes the technological designs of newer Chevrolet vehicles, including the 2024 Trailblazer.

The upgrade might be even better thanks to additional features, revised cabin materials, and an expanded equipment lineup.

The 2024 Buick Encore GX will continue with the powertrain lineup of the current model

The front-wheel-drive Encore GX on lower trims is powered by a turbocharged 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine that makes a respectable 137 horsepower and 162 pound-feet of torque. This engine is paired with a continuously variable automatic transmission, or CVT.

Selecting a more expensive trim level or opting for all-wheel drive bumps you up to a turbocharged 1.3-liter unit with 155 horsepower and 174 pound-feet of torque. The transmission also changes from a CVT to a traditional nine-speed automatic.

The interior update is a bit more subtle on the inside, as the overall design is relatively the same. For most models, everything below and behind the air conditioning controls is identical to the previous update GX.

Both the Buick Encore and Chevrolet Trax are assembled at GM’s Bupyeong factory in Incheon, South Korea, the former Daewoo factory, and are cheap entry-level cars that are problematic following a few years.

The last Encore we tested a few years ago seemed to fall apart when you accelerated it.
