It was announced on the BKK’s social media page on Monday evening that not only will the Budapest season ticket remain, but in principle the price will also decrease from the first of March. They added that the pass will continue to be valid throughout the capital on HÉVs, “blue Volánbusz” and designated MÁV trains.
Construction and Transport Minister János Lázár and Mayor Gergely Karácsony agreed on this on Monday. The agreement also states that the monthly pass for the Pest county and the monthly national pass will be accepted on BKK flights as of March.
In a joint statement by the minister and the mayor, it was written that each pass will be sold by both parties, through all sales channels, and the income from the Budapest pass, the Pest County pass and the national pass, and the related fare supplement – to the specifics of the given area of validity they are divided according to performance.
