The brokerage industry reacts strongly to new advertising prices from Finn

Finn.no has announced a major change in the price structure for housing advertising from 1 January.

The result is a new, big price jump, says general manager of Nordvik Bolig, Martin Kiligitto Today’s Business.

– An already greedy actor has become even greedier. Finn.no has now gone completely cowboy. This is completely the wild west, he tells the newspaper.

In 2022, Finn launched a new price model with three advertising packages for property, which was heavily criticized.

Now Finn is making new changes which mean that the most expensive housing package will become more expensive, writes E24. In addition, the company is switching to a “value-based” pricing model for housing ads, instead of fixed prices.

This means that a home with a low value gets a lower price, and the opposite for a home with a high value.

Finn will launch a price calculator where you can calculate the prices of the housing advertisements.

– We expect that this will be experienced differently from customer to customer, says Finn director Jørgen Hellestveit to the same website.

Head of the brokerage company Privatmegleren, Grethe Meier, estimates that the chain will see a price increase of at least 22 percent.

– The most unfortunate thing about this is that it becomes more unpredictable for property sellers. To us, the model seems very unfortunate, as it is not possible to calculate what the price increases will be for 2024 and 2025, she tells E24.
