The bride of “Ivan Brovkin” disappeared from the screens for 30 years: her fate will terrify everyone

The trick of the actress cost her dearly.

Daya Smirnova played a key role in the film “Soldier Ivan Brovkin”, embodying the bride of the protagonist Lyubasha. This project gave fame to the actress and made her attractive in the eyes of other directors.

The audience adored the young artist, and her fellow students envied her: she was so young, had not yet graduated, but had already become popular and in demand in her profession. But later the celebrity’s career failed, partly it was the choice of Smirnova herself.

The screen star changed her mind about being an actress and decided to try herself as a screenwriter. The students of this faculty were completely different: during one of the skits, they made caustic jokes that ridiculed key Soviet political figures. Such free-thinking ended for Smirnova with expulsion from VGIK.

At first, it seemed that this did not affect the success of Dai Evgenievna: she still often appeared on the set of popular projects. The heyday of her popularity came in the 60s, and in the 70s Smirnova simply disappeared.

Fans did not understand where their favorite artist had gone. For about 30 years, she did not act in film: the directors found out about the scandalous temper and provocative statements of the celebrity not only at that ill-fated skit, but also at Komsomol meetings and began to refuse to cooperate with the unreliable actress.

In the 2000s, she nevertheless returned to the screens, however, she played mainly episodic and age roles. Daya Evgenievna, forgotten by everyone, died in 2012.
