Laval University, in Quebec, is launching the “Interactive Brain Kit” in free access to explain neuropsychological functioning, in a popularized way. Built in a pedagogical and illustrated way, it makes it possible to better understand neuropsychological difficulties, their impact on daily life, and the strategies to deal with them.

In recent years, the laboratory team of Professor Caroline Cellard of the School of Psychology at Université Laval, in Quebec, has worked in collaboration with the CIUSSS de la Capitale-Nationale to create thea Brain kit. The objective of this kit is to explain neuropsychological functioning, in a popular way.
The Brain kit is made up of four components (adolescents, young adults, members of the entourage, young professionals) available in PDF and paper format.
They are intended for health professionals, adolescents (12-17 years old) and young adults (18-30 years old), as well as members of the entourage of people with cognitive difficulties. Within these sections, an explanation of each cognitive function is providedas well as clinical vignettes presenting a person experiencing cognitive difficulties and strategies to try to mitigate the consequences associated with these difficulties.

Since 2021, the team has integrated this popularization work by developing an online website: the Brain interactive kit. It is a navigable website and interactive, where each user chooses the information most suited to their needs. For each of the cognitive functions, video capsules have been included, translating concrete examples of cognitive difficulties in everyday life and adapted strategies. In order to produce these video capsules, a unique collaboration was set up with the UL School of Design (Professor Jean-Jacques Tremblay and a team of three student-artists in the Bachelor of Arts and Science of Animation) . As for the development of the website, four co-construction workshops were held with representatives of different groups likely to use the material, which made it possible to better adjust the content.
