After Diabolical, Amazon should multiply The Boys spin-offs.
Amazon is betting more than ever on its “The Boys” series to attract new subscribers. The streaming giant, which has just confirmed a fourth season of the show, had already delivered a first spin-off series at the start of the year, called The Boys Diabolical. The series in question presented itself as an animated series of short films.
According to Vernon Sanders, the director of Amazon Studios, the platform should produce more spin-offs in the coming months. A first “live-action” spin-off series should arrive in 2023. It would be followed by other projects which could take different forms. Diabolical could have a second season. Other concepts could also arise.
“We are seeing real fan engagement and audience growth” says the director of Amazon studios. “We had discussions with the producers about what we would like to do next.” About the first spin-off series, Amazon is also enthusiastic. “We are very excited about the project. We told the showrunner that we wanted to see the project land two years earlier than he proposed! We already have ideas for the future. “
The agenda therefore promises to be rather busy for the future, with the potential arrival of the spin-off series in early 2023, which will certainly be followed the same year by a second season of Diabolical and the fourth season of The Boys.
