A new horror story shakes Córdoba and also the country: a 14-year-old boy who was missing in the town of Laboulaye, in the south of Córdoba, was found murdered in an old tavern in the town.

This is Joaquín Sperani, of whom nothing was known since last Thursday and in whose case there was a high level of popular mobilization and concern, and obviously police.

Judicial and police sources indicated that the main suspect is a 13-year-old boy who was a friend or acquaintance of the victim.

The minor, according to reports, would have admitted everything to his own relatives and to the investigators.

Due to his age, the 13-year-old boy is absolutely incapable of prosecution by law. In other words, he cannot be subjected to criminal proceedings, much less to an accusation.

The file, in any case, will be transferred from the initial prosecutor’s office to a juvenile criminal court to act, investigate and deepen how the events happened and why.

Regarding the possible participation of another person, sources with access to the case indicated that, in principle, there are no elements that suggest the possible complicity of other people, minors or adults.

The case shakes that town, where a march demanding justice had already taken place.

Joaquín would have received blows to the head with an iron or another blunt object, according to sources with access to the case.

Joaquin. The boy they are looking for in Laboulaye.

disappearance and crime

Last Thursday, June 29, Joaquín had to attend Ipem school No. 278 “Malvinas Argentinas” in Laboulaye, head of the Presidente Roque Sáenz Peña department.

Joaquín disappeared in the followingnoon. His family filed the complaint that same day at police headquarters.

Given the turn the situation was taking, a search operation was ordered and an alert requesting information was issued from the prosecutor’s office.

Police investigators began an extensive search and investigation, while security cameras began to be analyzed and testimonies from residents were taken.

As it turned out, a film would have provided central elements that guided the detectives.

Specifically, a camera would have captured the two boys walking together through the town.

In parallel, the investigation allowed us to find the 13-year-old boy who had Joaquín’s cell phone. In this sense, this minor would have said that Joaquín had given it to him.

As it turned out, the boy now suspected of the crime would have ended up telling everything.

On Sunday morning, police personnel came to an old tavern in town. Inside, they found the body of the boy who was missing.

The terrible news caused anger, consternation and deep anguish in a town that had already marched through the streets in support of the family.

Although the results of the autopsy are awaited, it turned out that the adolescent had blows.

In this sense, it is suspected that Joaquín would have received at least one blow to the head with an iron. Still awaiting forensic results.

Senior Commissioner Enrique Carreras, of the local Police, specified that, following the complaint made by the adolescent’s family, they carried out a series of searches to “determine the whereregardings and what had been the route he had taken.”

In the operation, crews of police personnel worked together with dogs -around 90 troops-, firefighters, Duar troops, along with self-summoned neighbors.

With the twist that the case had, the file was sent from an investigative prosecutor’s office to a criminal and juvenile court to continue with the investigation and the steps to follow.

What happened

While the consternation spreads, the investigations delve into the cause in order to determine what would have been the motive for such a homicide.

It is ruled out that it was a mere fact of insecurity. In this sense, the detectives search for and accumulate testimonies in order to shed light on this horrifying case.
