So it would appear that Mr. Garg never resigned from his post following the controversy. Rather, he would have just taken unpaid leave.
The company’s board of directors announced the news of the CEO’s return to employees on Tuesday.
According to who would have been sent to them, Vishal Garg would have taken advantage of his leave to “reflect on the notion of leadership, reconnect with the values of the company, in addition to working with an executive coach.”
Vishal Garg apologized last December following firing nearly 900 employees through the Zoom platform.
Recorded on December 1, 2021, the video where the boss announced the bad news to employees had been widely shared by the American media and on social networks, arousing the indignation of many Internet users.
“If you participate in this appeal, you are part of the group of unlucky people who are laid off,” he said.
He then apologized, acknowledging the brutality of his method.
Vishal Garg once once more apologized to company employees when he returned on Tuesday.
