Folding smartphones from Samsung, Motorola, Xiaomi, Huawei… But from OnePlus? Fans of the brand are impatiently awaiting the manufacturer’s offensive on this market and it might not be long!
The month of August was marked by the fanfare launch of the Galaxy Z Fold4 and Flip4 at Samsung, which one immediately thinks of when it comes to folding smartphones. The manufacturer is not the only one on this market that it has initiated. Several others are racing, such as Huawei, Xiaomi, Motorola, Oppo… But OnePlus is still on the sidelines of this segment. This shouldn’t last.
A hinge that speaks volumes
As usual, Pete Lau, the boss of OnePlus, caused a sensation on Twitter by revealing two images of what looks a lot like a hinge. A mechanism of course essential to a foldable device! From the length, it seems that this future smartphone will not be a clamshell model like the Flip, but rather a “book” format like the Fold. But the pictures are far from revealing everything.

It is for Pete Lau to make the little music of OnePlus heard at a time when the news of the competition is intense. And it’s also a way to make everyone who is ready to buy a folding smartphone wait: wait until you see the OnePlus one, the boss seems to be saying.
The manufacturer confirms if necessary a rumor that had been circulating since last year of a “OnePlus Fold”, and appeared a few months later the launch at Oppo of the Find N. With OnePlus and Oppo being part of the same BBK group, technologies come and go between the two. It would therefore not be surprising if the OnePlus Fold resembles the Find N… We must now hope that such a device is more widely marketed than its model!
