The Bogotá Philharmonic Orchestra presents its program in tribute to women

From March 9 to 12, the Orchestra will present a tribute to women with two concerts that will perform the works “Festive Overture” and the Cello Concerto.

The Bogotá Philharmonic Orchestra pays homage on International Women’s Day with two concerts, interpreting the works “Festive Overture” by maestro Blas Emilio Atehortúa, “Symphony No. 1” by Felix Mendelssohn and together with the soloist Ana Isabel Zorro, musician of the Bogota Philharmonic Orchestra, the “Cello Concerto” by Edward Elgar.

Under the direction of María Camila Barbosa, current Director of the Bogotá – Cundinamarca Youth Philharmonic Orchestra, a group that is part of our musical training project.

Located in the heart of Chapinero, the Konrad Lorenz University Foundation’s Sonia Fajardo Forero Auditorium welcomes the Clarinet Quartet of the Youth Philharmonic Band. Andrés Varón, Edwin Soto, Jaime Alberto Ramírez and Josué Vásquez perform a varied repertoire that is part of the country’s cultural heritage.

The Wind Quintet of the Youth Philharmonic Band performs music in small spaces and with different instrumental combinations. For its presentation in the lobby of the Villa Mayor Theater, located in the town of Antonio Nariño, its configuration includes: trio of flutes and trio of oboe, flute and clarinet, among others. Concert with free admission and controlled capacity.
