Pathanamthitta – South region DIG R. Nishanthini said that the killing of women in Ilantur is part of human sacrifice. It is being investigated whether more murders have taken place. The dead bodies were found from four places. The first body found was cut into 56 pieces. The second body found was cut into 5 pieces. A bag smeared with saffron and a stone were recovered along with the second body.
“The human sacrifice took place on June 8 and September 26. The incident took place between 5 and 6 pm. All three were involved in the heinous crime. Muhammad Shafi started a relationship with the couple a year and a half ago. There are financial transactions between them. The bodies are yet to be identified. Examinations including post-mortem are conducted at Kottayam Medical College. Forensic examination etc. will be conducted.
Weapons have been recovered from the house. There are many weapons in the house. It is possible to identify which one was used for killing. We are investigating why the women were brought here. “Bhagwal Singh, Laila and Shafi are involved in the murder,” Nishanthini said. Nishanthini added that Shafi was questioned but did not say anything.
DCP Sasidharan said that the discovery of the vehicle in which the women were misled was crucial in the investigation. He added that it was found that the women had boarded Shafi’s vehicle.
Rosili from Kaladi and Padmam from Ponnurunni were killed as part of human sacrifice.
