The Israeli military confirmed the death of 19-year-old Oz Daniel, and the Hostage and Disappeared Families Forum said his remains were being held in a Palestinian enclave.
“Oz’s body is still being held by Hamas,” the forum said in a statement. O. Danielis was a guitarist who believed in the power of music to change the world, it added.
Palestinian Islamist militants kidnapped around 250 Israelis and foreigners in the October 7 attack, and Israel says around 130 hostages remain in the Gaza Strip, 31 of whom are believed to have been killed.
During the week-long ceasefire that ended on December 1, more than 100 hostages were released, many of them exchanged for Palestinians held in Israeli prisons.
