Excavations were initiated on Tuesday, September 24, in Yonne, to try to find the remains of Marie-Jeanne Ambroisine Coussin, a mother who could be the eighth victim of serial killer Émile Louis.
Is the body of Marie-Jeanne Ambroisine Coussin found in the undergrowth of Rouvray (Yonne), in Burgundy? Since Tuesday September 24, excavations have been undertaken at the place where the skull of this mother was found in 2018. She could be the eighth victim of serial killer Émile Louis. The criminal, who died in 2013, was sentenced to life in prison for the murder of seven women.
One of Marie-Jeanne Ambroisine Coussin’s children hopes to finally be able to begin his mourning. Jacques Ponce, his son, wishes to give him a burial so that he can spend time with his children.
In the 1970s, Émile Louis was a bus driver. It was in this context that he met his future victims, exclusively women suffering from a mental handicap. He is said to have killed at least seven, aged between 15 and 27, but only two of them have been found. The new investigations in the Rouvray woods therefore fuel the hope of finding other possible victims. The excavations are expected to continue until the end of next week.
