Peloponnese Newsroom

A tattoo on the back confirmed, according to information, that the body found this morning in the stream of Pteleos, in advanced decomposition, belongs to 49-year-old Yannis Karabatsis, who disappeared since last April.

The identification was made by the tattoo and the forensic examination will be carried out on Monday, while two forensic experts were present at the scene today.

The family’s lawyer, Mr. Dugas, told gegonota.news that all possibilities are open, including criminal action, and the 49-year-old’s family calls on anyone who knows anything to report it to the police, even anonymously. “The body belongs to our man and this is now confirmed by tattoos on the back,” he said.

When Yannis Karabatsis disappeared, his jacket and other personal belongings were found in an olive mill in the area. Next to the olive press is the stream where the rotting body of a man was found today.
