Paris, May 7, 2024 -/African Media Agency(AMA)/- The Bluemind Foundation, in collaboration with the International Association of Francophone Mayors (AIMF), is proud to announce an innovative framework agreement to promote mental health in urban environments thanks to the “Blue Cities” initiative. This partnership highlights a shared commitment to improving quality of life, with a particular focus on women, young people aged 12 to 25 and vulnerable populations.
The signing of this agreement is further recognition of the internationally recognized impactful work of the Bluemind Foundation, through recent prestigious publications from the New York Times and Vogue Magazine dedicated to its Heal by Hair program. The “Villes Bleues” initiative aims to integrate mental well-being into urban policies by collaborating with local authorities, civil society and other stakeholders to develop inclusive and resilient French-speaking cities across the world.
“This partnership with the AIMF allows us to expand our reach and deepen our impact on urban communities across the French-speaking world,” says Marie-Alix de PUTTER President and Founder of the Bluemind Foundation. “With ‘Blue Cities’, we envision cities where mental well-being is a cornerstone of urban development, ensuring supportive environments for all citizens.”
The agreement with the AIMF will provide essential support to the initiative, facilitating participatory projects that prioritize mental health as a key part of urban life. This collaboration represents an important step toward creating environments that promote mental resilience and well-being.

ABOUT THE AIMF
For 40 years, the AIMF has brought together Mayors convinced that by changing the city, we can change the world. Rather than thinking in terms of North or South, ethnicity or religion and focusing on what divides, it constitutes a common thread that brings people together around a certain idea of seeing the world.
ABOUT THE BLUEMIND FOUNDATION
The Bluemind Foundation is an international non-governmental organization chaired by Marie-Alix de Putter, who founded it in July 2021 following the murder of her husband and her personal experience of post-traumatic stress, chronic depression and anxiety. Our constant message is based on a strong conviction: mental health is health. With the ambition to make mental health a social, cultural and political issue, the mission of the Bluemind Foundation is to destigmatize mental health and make care accessible to all.
