The blue dollar rises for the third day in a row

The blue dollar opens the day higher, in a context where the US dollar appreciates globally. This is the third advance recorded in the week, although it is still $7 away from its all-time nominal high ($222.50, on January 27).

Yesterday Argentine shares listed on Wall Street (ADR) fell, in line with the rest of the world’s stock markets. Between armed conflicts, the tightening of monetary policy in the United States and the threat of Covid-19 in China, investors rush to the safest assets.

However, assets opened on the rise, with the highest increases registered in the papers of Transportadora Gas del Sur (5.8%), YPF (5.4%) and Ternium (5.4%). The unicorns Mercado Libre (-7.5%) and Globant (-1.8%) continue to fall.

The technology sector is suffering a blow of uncertainty due to the international context. So far this year, shares tech recorded cumulative falls that exceed 40%. Large Argentine companies are no strangers to this trend: the unicorns Mercado Libre and Globant register, as a whole, a depreciation of US$33.4 billion.
