The blue dollar finds no ceiling and rises again this Tuesday

The last days of 2022 and so far in 2023, the illegal Argentine exchange market has been governed by tensions and nervousness. In fact, only last week the price of the blue dollar increased $15, and the uptrend continues this week.

The blue dollar marked at the beginning of the day this Tuesday a rise of $5 in its price, and it reached $375, the highest nominal value in history. Now the North American currency cut that initial rise by one peso and It is listed in the informal market at $374 per unit, four pesos above Monday’s close.

The blue dollar adds this Monday its eighth consecutive round to the rise and, so far in January, it has accumulated an advance of $28, following closing 2022 at $346. With the new rise, the exchange gap with the wholesale dollar -regulated by the Central Bank- reaches 105%.

$374
It is the price of the blue dollar this Tuesday, January 17.

With this new increase, the blue dollar was very close to the price of the Qatar dollar, which is at $379. According to operators, the escalation of the blue responds to the increase in demand for tourismbut also as a hedge, in a context of liquidity in pesos that accentuates this trend.
