Bitter incident
Let’s take another look back at 6 p.m. CET, when the Brazilian Grand Prix was supposed to start for the first time. A bitter incident ruined the race of four drivers.
Alexander Albon’s accident, which collided with Nico Hülkenberg and spun into Kevin Magnussen, caused Albon’s wheel to be flicked by Hülkenberg onto Daniel Ricciardo’s rear wing, damaging his rear wing. At the same time, Magnussen slipped into the rear of Oscar Piastri, the two Australians had to go into the pits and from then on were stuck behind the field because they were not allowed to circle.
“Just bad luck. I had a good start, a good feeling and on the way to the grid on the soft tire I told my engineer that it could be good. It’s probably typical,” said Kevin Magnussen in a short interview.
Alexander Albon actually had an incredibly good start and got close to Nico Hülkenberg very quickly, and he was correspondingly disappointed about that: “I didn’t do anything different, I was as far to the right as I could. Fernando Alonso was extremely happy that he was able to win third place against Sergio Perez. It was a battle that only saw 53 thousandths between the two at the finish line and his first reaction after the race was accordingly and he dedicated it to his team Victory:

Great start
What was going on in this starting phase?
First, Charles Leclerc loses his Ferrari in turn 6 due to hydraulic damage, hits the barrier and has to park his car. He was very desperate on the radio:
