After the launch of Pokemon Legends: ArceusNintendo held its first Direct presentation of 2022. There was no shortage of surprises during these 40 minutes.
The event lasted 40 minutes and offered many surprises. The most important reveals are the portable version of No Man’s Sky, the return of Super Mario Strikers and the revival of Wii Sports. Plus, Mario Kart 8 promises to get even bigger. We will also have new games for the Switch.
The return of Super Mario Strikers
Nintendo revealed Mario Strikers : Battle League will be a sequel to the Game Cube original. Which includes the same wacky gameplay that makes it a bit like Mario Kart but for football. It supports up to eight players on the same console or via online play with a launch June 10.
New tracks for Mario Kart 8
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe receives 48 new tracks which will be released in waves over the next two years. A paid DLC, will feature remastered versions of classic tracks. The launch of the first wave is scheduled for 18 mars.
Nintendo presents the successor to Wii Sports
Nintendo unveiled a new version of the best-selling Wii Sports, with the name “inspired” Nintendo Switch Sports. It features many familiar sports and new motion controls. Nintendo Switch Sports will be released on 29 avril.
More games coming to Nintendo Switch in the coming months
Now the space exploration game No Man’s Sky goes portablethanks to an output on Nintendo Switch. It should be launched this summer.
The extensive series of sci-fi role-playing games Xenoblade Chronicles returns September 3. We don’t know much else, but it’s sure to be grand.
The hack-and-slash spin-off Fire Emblem Warriors is getting a sequel set around the same time as Fire Emblem: Three Houses in 2019. The sequel is called Three Hopesand will be released on June 24.
Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Campa remastered bundle of the first two games, will launch on April 8.
Kirby’s post-apocalyptic spin-off The Forgotten Land introduces a new feature that the trailer makes clear. The game releases on March 25.
The Nintendo Switch is getting a lot of classics
Although there was a lot of new stuff, Nintendo also showed off a number of classic games. This includes a set of two Portal games, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed on April 20. There’s also the Assassin’s Creed Trilogy on February 17 and a Chrono Cross remaster on April 7.
Nintendo’s online subscription service is getting a big addition with Earthbound and its pre-Earthbound Origins.
Square Enix will release a demo of the intriguing strategy RPG Project Trianglee. Save data will transfer when the full game launches in March.
If you found Metroid Dread too easy or too difficult, there is good news. An update will introduce a “rookie” mode and a “terror” mode with one-shot kills. The game will also have a boss rush mode.
