The American swimmer Ryan Murphy He won the bronze medal in the 100m backstroke. The award ceremony was an immensely happy moment. His wife Bridget Konttinen was in the stands and had prepared a surprise that would change his life forever.
The revelation at the Olympic Games
In his hands he held a sign which revealed the gender of the baby he and Murphy are expecting. The baby will be born in January and will be a girl. The swimmer smiled from the podium.

Murphy spoke of his feelings when he saw his wife holding the sign with the message that revealed the sex of their baby“I was walking back and Bridget was holding a sign that said, ‘Ryan, it’s a girl. ’ That was the first time I heard the gender.
“We both honestly thought it was going to be a boy. And everyone, like everyone we talked to, thought it was going to be a boy,” she said.

Ryan Murphy He won three gold medals in Rio in 2016, and one gold, one silver and one bronze in Tokyo 2021. In Paris, he won his first medal after finishing third, behind Thomas Ceccon and Xu Jiayu.
