Mixco worked until the last minute to stay alive in the semifinal, following Antigua GFC tied the series with José Gálvez’s goal in the 54th minute.
Those led by Fabricio Benítez never stopped believing and once more and once more avoided the colonials’ second goal, thanks to the performance of experienced goalkeeper Kevin Moscoso, who was a figure during the 90 minutes, overtime and in the penalty shootout.
Yonathan Pozuelos was in charge of scoring the penalty that gave Mixco the classification. After beating goalkeeper Braulio Linares, the party, the euphoria, the screams, the hugs of a team that for the first time in its history will have the opportunity to fight for the title in national soccer came.
Pozuelos ran to hug his teammates, but on the way Moscoso jumped and shouted for the goal, a goal that many players dream of, but few achieve. A definition where nerves are overcome and defined with courage.
Mixco continued the party in the dressing room, where he sang, ate pizza, and enjoyed a feeling he is experiencing for the first time, such as reaching the final. The rival will come out of this Sunday’s match between Municipal and Comunicaciones, in another close series, since in the first leg they finished 0-0.
