A recent medical study conducted by Canadian scientists revealed a number of foods that help reduce the risk of heart disease.
According to the study, which was conducted by scientists at McMaster University and the Institute of Population Research Health in Ontario, eating fruits, vegetables, legumes, nuts, fish and full-fat dairy products is a key factor in reducing the risk of cardiovascular disease.
In the study, the results of which were published in the European Heart Journal, the researchers analyzed data from multiple studies that included 245,000 people in 80 countries that focused on the diets of these people, and compared them for those suffering from heart disease and those without it, according to the agency “UBI”. news.
Senior researcher Salem Youssef said the study focused on exclusively protective or natural foods, which are consistent for high-, middle- and low-income countries.
He added: “There has been a growing focus recently on increasing consumption of disease-preventive foods. Outside of large amounts of fruits, vegetables, nuts and legumes, researchers have shown that moderation is key in consuming natural foods.”
The researchers advised that the daily diet should include two to three servings of fruit, two to three servings of vegetables, one serving of nuts, and two servings of dairy products.
The diet should also include three to four weekly servings of legumes and two to three servings of fish.
