A letter from Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie to ex-husband Brad Pitt has been released.
According to the American entertainment media ET on the 12th (local time), it was reported that Jolie’s e-mail was found among several records submitted to the court by two people who are suing over property division and custody of their children.
Pitt has filed a claim for damages, claiming that Jolie sold her stake in the French winery she bought together. The public email was written to Pitt by Jolie during the sale of her stake in the winery in January 2021.
In the mail, Jolie said, “I wrote it in a way that I would not be seen emotionally. The winery is where the youngest twins, Knox and Vivienne, were born, and where we got married in front of our children.”
He said, “It’s hard to write this email without crying because it’s a place where we promised we’d grow old together.
“The winery is also where the end of our family began,” Jolie said, referring to Pitt’s alcohol abuse problem.
He said, “I saw a lot of thoughtless behavior, money wasted without my knowledge, and decisions I didn’t discuss. It reminded me of the past.”
“Alcoholism has hurt my family so deeply, and I cannot get involved in the alcohol business,” he wrote. “There are only two ways. Either sell the business or you buy all my shares.
Pitt did not buy Jolie’s stake, following which Jolie sold her stake in the winery to a Russian businessman.
Pitt sued Jolie for damages, claiming that Jolie had sold it without his consent and that it had violated the agreement between the two.
Jolie is responding with a countersuit. Jolie’s lawyers have discussed the sale of the winery with Pitt’s lawyers, but they argue that the negotiations broke down because Pitt’s demands were too high.
Jolie’s e-mail is expected to be used as an important piece of evidence in the two people’s court battle over the division of property.
