Niacina… WHAT? Creams and serums containing niacinamide are now everywhere on cosmetic shelves. It’s amazing what the skin care vitamin is supposed to be able to do: Cream away signs of aging and refine the skin overall. It is also said to be effective once morest acne. Can that be true?

Niacinamide, also known as niacinamide or nicotinic acid, is a form of vitamin B3 and is involved in the skin’s metabolism. From a concentration of 2-5%, the active ingredient increases the production of ceramides (fat building blocks) and

And indeed: Dr. Natkritta Hüppe, Science Communications Manager at the University Medical Center in Mainz, writes to us: “There are numerous well-founded studies on the effects of niacinamide in skin care. Among other things, it is reported that the skin appears more even and fresher through the use of niacinamide. A pore-refining and brightening effect might also be shown.”

How to use Niacinamide Serum

So the beauty vitamin works and it’s scientifically proven! But is it safe to use without blushing, especially in the summer sun? The various manufacturers see no concerns: “Overall well tolerated and suitable for all skin types, especially for oily, impure and mature skin” is niacinamide. However, it is better not to combine it with salicylic acid. You should always use additional sun protection – if only to prevent future signs of aging on the skin.
