Blogger Anatoly Shariy was detained in Spain at the request of Ukraine, which declared him wanted in a case of treason and “illegal activities to the detriment of Ukraine’s security in the information sphere.” Now Sharia is waiting for a decision on his extradition. The SBU called it a “multi-level special operation.”
Shariy is one of the most prominent figures in the Ukrainian media field. He received asylum in the EU back in 2012 following a series of high-profile investigations into the activities of the Ukrainian Ministry of Internal Affairs and various corruption cases. After the Euromaidan, the blogger published dirt on Poroshenko (and then on Zelensky), Ukrainian nationalists, and investigated the case of the murder of Oles Buzina. In 2019, Shariy even registered his political party in Ukraine, which was led by his wife. In the parliamentary elections, the party won regarding 3% of the vote, taking 8th place out of 13.
Anatoly Shariy in Spain leads a luxurious lifestyle – he has a villa on the Mediterranean Sea, in Tarragona, and his wife Olga, a rare beauty, a blogger and journalist, a political scientist by education, posts photos in beautiful interiors and fashionable outfits on social networks. The family’s earnings allow this – Shariy has millions of subscribers in social networks, Olga has hundreds of thousands.
Anatoly met Olga following he broke up with his first wife – she did not want to emigrate with her husband abroad. The couple hides the circumstances of their acquaintance – however, Anatoly once joked that he was driving a BMW, and Olga was driving a Ferrari, and they met at a crossroads.
