Zak starkey: Oh, it was amazing. Chris and I have played together many times, but never like this, with a Beatles tribute band, in the cavern. We’ve got this telepathic link when we drum together, and I think that connection really resonated with the audience. We wanted to honor both the music and the venue, and I think we managed to do that.

Zak Starkey: It was surreal, to be honest. It was like I could feel the energy of those first performances, the raw power and passion that The Beatles brought to that stage. It’s hard to describe, but it was almost like I was channeling that energy through my own playing. It was a unique and powerful experience.

Archyde: Despite your amazing lineage and wealth of experience, you admitted to feeling nervous before the performance. Why was that?

Zak starkey: (Laughs) Yeah,it’s true. I guess it’s because of what the Cavern club means to me, to my family, and to music history. I wanted to do justice to the music,to the venue,and to my dad’s legacy. That kind of pressure, even for an experienced player like me, can be nerve-wracking.

Archyde: Speaking of your father’s legacy, how does it feel being part of the Starkey musical dynasty? Does it add any extra pressure or inspiration?

Zak Starkey: It’s a double-edged sword, really. On one hand, it’s incredibly inspiring to know that I’m part of such a musical family. On the other hand, it can be daunting, knowing that I’m following in some pretty big footsteps. But at the end of the day,I’m grateful for the inspiration and the chance to make my own mark on music.
