The Batman movie, the new part of the Batman adventure series, retained the top spot at the North American box office for a second week in a row, according to preliminary estimates published by the specialized company, Exhibitor Relations.
The Warner Brothers movie, in which British actor Robert Pattinson plays the role of Batman, earned $66 million from Friday to Sunday, raising its total in the United States to more than 238 million, adding to it $224 million worldwide. Note that the cost of its production was estimated at 200 million.
The second place went to the adventure movie “Uncharted”, inspired by the popular video game produced by “Sony”, as the tape in which Tom Holland plays the role of a treasure hunter raised $9.2 million over the weekend.
As for the third place, it was occupied by the live broadcast on Saturday in cinemas of a concert by the famous South Korean pop group “BTS” in Seoul entitled “Permission to Dance on Stage”, with revenues of 6.8 million dollars.
The concert’s obtaining this status was a rare event in the box office rankings, and thus became the highest-grossing direct broadcast in the history of cinema at all, according to the specialized Hollywood Reporter website.
And dropped to fourth place was the movie “Dog”, which tells the road trip of an army veteran (played by Channing Tatum), who accompanies the dog Lulu, who was injured while serving with the army in Afghanistan, to the funeral of his former owner, and the film earned $ 5.3 million between Friday And sunday.
As for the movie “Spider-Man: No Way Home”, in which Tom Holland also stars, and is the latest part of the adventures of Spider-Man, it came fifth with 4.1 million dollars, while its global earnings exceeded 1.1 billion dollars.
