The 2024 edition of the Barcelona City Cycling Classic will be held this Sunday (July 7) in the capital of the state of Anzoátegui, the members of the organizing committee of the competition reported on Thursday.
José Fernández, a member of the press department of the Venezuelan Cycling Federation (FVC), reported that the event will have the participation of 200 athletes and will be held thanks to the support of the Mayor’s Office of the Simón Bolívar Municipality, headed by Sugey Herrera.
He stressed that Miguel Gorrín, director of sports at Bolívar, hopes that the event will be a success and to ensure this he has ordered a special security plan, as well as a first-class logistical deployment.

“The show, included in the FVC 2024 calendar and endorsed by the Anzoátegui State Association, chaired by Armando Leonett, will take place starting at 8:00 a.m. on the four-kilometer circuit of Costanera de Barcelona Avenue,” Gorrín explained in a press release.
Cyclists from the free, youth, master A, B, C and D categories, as well as the executive category, will take part in the event. Prizes will also be awarded to the best calapedistas in the pre-infant, children, pre-youth and youth categories.
“Sports fans will enjoy the broadcast of the 18th edition of the Cycling Classic, sponsored by the Mayor’s Office of the Simón Bolívar Municipality, through the radio station Rítmica 101.5 FM, with part of the staff of the Eastern Cycling Circuit working,” said Fernández.
