The Bahraini Federation explained in a statement published on its account on the “X” platform, that it will not be satisfied with this request, but will resort to all relevant organizations, whether Islamic or humanitarian, in order to stop the fierce attack and threats issued by Indonesian fans, which amount to “killing” Bahrainis. Especially the national team players.

The Bahraini Football Association expressed its condemnation of what it described as “unacceptable behavior” by Indonesian fans against them following the Bahrain-Indonesia match last Thursday in the third round of the Asian qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.

The Bahraini Federation also denounced, according to its statement, the members of its country’s national team receiving death threat messages, and said, “A step that reflects the recklessness of the Indonesian public and their play with human lives, and we refuse to endanger the lives and souls of the national team members.”

This comes days after the Omani Federation issued a statement in which it supported international referee Ahmed Al-Kaf, who, for his part, was subjected to threats after leading the match between Indonesia and Bahrain in the Asian qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.

The Omani referee was subjected to severe attacks by the players and supporters of the Indonesian team, after blowing the final whistle for the match that was held in Manama, where he was accused of favoring the Bahraini team after adding three minutes as an alternative to stoppage time in the second half after he announced the addition of six minutes, but he fired The final whistle came at the 99th minute of the match, where the referee justified this by the presence of clear obstruction by the Indonesian team, before blowing the final whistle in the last attack, which resulted in the equalizer for Bahrain, as the match ended (2-2).

The Bahraini national team is scheduled to host its Indonesian counterpart on March 25 in the eighth round of the Asian qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.

The Bahraini national team occupies fourth place in its group standings for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, with 5 points on goal difference from Saudi Arabia and Australia, who are in third and second place, respectively, and with a point difference in front of fifth-placed Indonesia.
