Guerrilla Games has been forced to make longer downloads in Horizon Forbidden West on PlayStation 5 consoles. Representatives of the company spoke regarding this in a comment for the Engadget portal.
According to game director Mathijs de June, the PS5 version of Horizon Forbidden West took no more than five seconds to load. In order for players to be able to read at least one hint on the start screen, the developers have introduced an additional feature that slightly slowed down the loading process. In comparison, the same action on PlayStation 4 can take up to a minute.
Formerly de Yune toldthat the release of the action might take place as early as 2021, but the studio decided not to force employees to work overtime. In addition, according to the game director, the world of Horizon was created as the opposite of the gray reality from the Killzone series.
Horizon Forbidden West was released on February 18, 2022. The game is available on PlayStation 4 and 5 with a free nextgen update. The title has an average score of 89 out of 100 on review aggregator Metacritic and 7.7 out of 10 from users. You can learn more regarding the action in our review.
