The Saudi artist, Rabeh Saqr, responded to the statements of the Arab artist, Muhammad Abdo, but indirectly, following the latter expressed his opinion on the art and songs presented by Rabeh Saqr, Talal Maddah and other famous singers in the Arab world.
Rabah Saqr tweeted through his official account on Twitter, saying: “We all love Muhammad Abdo, this is in many projections, our teacher Muhammad A. Al-Hadi A. Al-Hadi,” in response to the statements made by the artist Muhammad Abdo recently when he was a guest of the journalist Ali Al-Olayani on the program “Stages” broadcast on “SBC” channel.
Rabeh Saqr’s tweet came in response to another tweet by the famous Saudi activist Nayef Madkhali, who in turn defended Rabeh and his fellow singers, saying: “With my appreciation to the great artist Muhammad Abdo, the song Talal Maddah is my beloved homeland and the song of Abu Aseel, my country, and I continue the immortal songs engraved in memory.” And conscience.. It is a great national heritage.. The lesson is not in numbers.”
And the Arab artist, Muhammad Abdo, had made some statements that sparked controversy, in which he said that Talal Maddah and Abu Bakr Salem left only a flirtatious lyrical legacy, but they did not leave a national legacy, stressing that the national heritage is what remains. He laughs, “It’s like someone pushing a broken car… This is not home.”
He continued in his statements, speaking of the song “My Beloved Country”, that the song was stolen, and tried to confirm the validity of his words by comparing it with another song, calling on all artists to give more effort and sweat for the sake of the homeland, noting that he was telling his opinion to the departed in their presence and was a witness to this covenant.
Following the anger of the masses, the artist, Muhammad Abdo, apologized to the family of the late artists, Abu Bakr Salem and Talal Maddah, following some criticized him for his statements he made during his hosting of the “Stage” program with the media on SBC regarding his late colleagues regarding their artistic legacy.
And Muhammad Abdo said, through a video clip .. “God have mercy on all our dead and dead Muslims, and I especially mention my loved ones, my friends, and my teachers, Abu Bakr Salem and Talal Al-Maddah.. The truth of those I participated with and shared with me my joys and my sorrows I owe them great credit that I lived among their history and was always with them in joys and sorrows “.
And he added, “I apologize to them, their lovers, and all their families. In one of the Ramadan interviews, which was a little sharp… I ask forgiveness… and I ask their followers and loved ones to excuse me in that expression that was only artistic.”
