Yesterday, July 5, 2024 in the evening, in Patras, the theater group “THEATROPolice”, of the Union of Police Officers of Akarnania and the International Union of Police / Local Administration of Akarnania, presented the play of Marios Pontikas “THE WEDDING” directed by Iulis Marousi and in co-production with DI.PE.THE Agriniou.
The theatrical performance was carried out following an initiative of the General Regional Police Directorate of Western Greece, in co-production with DIPETHE Agrini and in cooperation with the Unions of Police Officers of Achaia and Akarnania, the Union of Greek Police Officers of the Region of Western Greece, the Association of Civilian Personnel of the Hellenic Police and Fire Brigade Corps of Southwest and Central Greece, the Local Commands of Achaia and Acarnania of the International Police Union and the Police Directorate of Achaia.

representatives of local government, education, but also the bodies, associations and clubs of Patras and Achaia, trade unions of active police officers and security forces.
The director Iouli Marousi and the police-actors of the THEATROPOLICE group shocked the viewers through their direction and performance, bringing to the surface the phenomenon of gender-based violence completely raw and without embellishments, as depicted through the drawing of a young girl who is raped daily physically and psychologically.
The “THEATROPolice” theater group, which is made up of police officers, has won a total of seventeen awards at the Panhellenic Amateur Theater Festival, among them, the first awards for best performance and the first awards for best direction.
