The Office of the Attorney General of the Nation made a special visit to the Bajo Cauca Antioqueño with the objective of evaluating the implementation and effectiveness of the risk management plans associated with the Hidroituango project.
During this day, multiple activities were carried out simultaneously throughout the region, allowing for a comprehensive evaluation of the plans that have been monitored since 2021.

During the visit, important meetings were held with communities in Briceño, Toledo and Valdivia, where a significant strengthening of the capacities of more than 120 citizens and officials from different territorial entities was evident.
These spaces for dialogue made it possible to identify the needs and expectations of communities in terms of risk management.

The Attorney General’s Office also coordinated efforts with the Government of Antioquia, territorial risk management councils, Civil Defense, Red Cross, EPM, DAGRAN, Ministry of Housing and UNGRD.
This is done in order to strengthen land use plans and promote comprehensive risk management.
This visit demonstrates the commitment of the Attorney General’s Office to protecting communities and ensuring proper risk management in large-scale projects such as Hidroituango.
The results of this assessment will serve to strengthen prevention and response mechanisms for potential emergencies.
