“In recent years, it has unfortunately become increasingly difficult to provide adequate service to members of the industry. Market players have come together and resolving issues has become increasingly complex, especially for a relatively small association like AFISQ. The resources necessary to accomplish the Association’s mission exceed its capacities, ”explained Pierre Bourgon, president of AFISQ, in a press release on Thursday.
AFISQ has therefore chosen to entrust its mission to Medtech Canada, which is the national association representing the Canadian medical technology industry. In Quebec, it has more than 369 equipment, device and service companies used in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases and health problems.
“The transition from membership to Medtech Canada is the natural next step,” said Bourgon.
“We believe that AFISQ’s decision to entrust us with its mission will be an opportunity to highlight the important contribution of Quebec SMEs to the activities of the Quebec health system and to strengthen the representativeness of Medtech Canada as an interlocutor. key to the healthcare supply chain, ”said Benoit Larose, Quebec vice-president of Medtech Canada.
