The saga continues. After it was determined that Roy Rabivo was suspended and would not be able to play in the first two games of the Israeli national team in the Olympic tournament, the soccer association announced today (Tuesday) that it has petitioned CAS in the matter of the Maccabi Tel Aviv defender, with the decision to be made in the next day.

The association claims for its part that according to the document it has with the UEFA Disciplinary Committee, he is not removed from the youth team. She also claims that after his expulsion, the young team played against Iceland and he was not invited.

As you may remember, the left back is suspended from the last official game of the senior team and as a result he will not be able to take part in the first two games of the tournament in Paris, against Mali tomorrow and Paraguay after that.

As published last night (Monday) in ONE, the team does not intend to accept the decision and has appealed in order to try to allow Rabivo’s participation after all.

Initially, the team received messages from UEFA that the expulsion would not apply to the Olympic Games, but suddenly the messages changed and the team claims that they received a completely different letter. The chairman of the association, Shino Zoertz, took care of the matter and checked the issue with FIFA, with the final answer received being negative.

Luzon’s options are the integration of Sean Goldberg as a left defender (the position in which he started his career) or the placement of the young Noam Ben Harosh, a defender of Hapoel Haifa, who can play on both wings. It should be noted that it is not possible to put a player from the waiting list in place of Rabivo, because this is only valid in case of injury.
