The Assassin’s Creed Liberation roster has been deleted and cannot be played even for owners starting September 1 on Steam

if you own Doctrine killer Editing on Steam and you’re not done with it yet, you might want to do so soon, since the game has not only been removed from the platform, but will become unavailable to everyone from September 1st!

This notice was posted on Assassin’s Creed Liberation HD Steam . page Where the following was posted:

Yes, that means that even if you already own the game, you won’t be able to play it on Steam to complete it, which is bad, since people paid for the game and stuff.

While not the crown jewel of the franchise’s long list of releases, AC Liberation was originally released for PlayStation Vita in 2012 and tied for Assassin’s Creed 3. A black heroine, the first in the franchise, saw an HD re-release on Consoles and PCs in 2014.

Here is a description of the game Over on Steam:

Introducing Assassin’s Creed® Liberation HD, the captivating chapter in the pre-revolutionary American saga of Assassin’s Creed® coming to HD consoles and PC for the first time. With enhanced gameplay, deeper storyline, and HD graphics, Liberation is an immersive and all-encompassing Assassin’s Creed experience.

This is another reason why owning digital games is a resentment by certain consumer groups, because technically you never really own the game itself as it can. While it is very common for games to be removed from storefront listings, a title that is completely unplayable is not. Hopefully, this isn’t the beginning of a trend, as it will seriously impact anyone’s digital gaming library.

We have contacted Ubisoft regarding this and if there is a workaround planned or something like that. Also, if an Assassin’s Creed 3 Remastered bundle that includes Liberation will be affected.
