The Yemeni artist, Arwa, cried for her country, during a television interview on Al-Hurra channel, during which she talked regarding the tragedy of Yemenis between belonging and the absence of a state that can support them.
Arwa said: “The Lebanese always owns a house in the village. We do not have a farm. The Lebanese build a house to return to his country. We do not have this hope. I mean, we are cut off. We have hope that we will return and settle in our country.”
And she continued, “Unfortunately, there are many people who exchange their nationalities and completely dispense with them, and they hide that their origins are from Yemen and they have a right. I do not blame them, not because Yemen does not honor us to belong to it, but they need support from another place. They need support that we do not have a country that offers us.”
And she added, “The homeland is in our hearts, but on the ground for us it does not exist, so the story that you think that when I grow up, I must return to my country is not present with us.”
And she talked regarding her constant search for stability, saying, “I am thinking that I will have a house in Dubai and I will have a house in Saudi Arabia, but not once did I plan to have a house in Yemen despite my love for my country and my love for my land.”
