IDN Pictures has released a teaser poster and first look at the latest romantic comedy drama film from producer Susanti Dewi and director Jeihan Angga, The Art of Understanding a Lover, which is scheduled to hit theaters on September 5, 2024.
“The film The Art of Understanding Lovers is a unique story from the story of the couple Agus Mulyadi and Kalis Mardiasih, wrapped in a romantic comedy,” said Head of IDN Pictures and film producer Susanti Dewi in an official statement, quoted Sunday (7/7).
The poster for the film The Art of Understanding Love features Elang El Gibran as Agus Mulyadi (Agus Magelangan) and Febby Rastanty as Kalis Mardiasih, wearing helmets and riding motorbikes, with the other cast members including Sisca Saras, Devina Aureel, Desy Genoveva, Yusril, and Benecdivity in the background.
Meanwhile, the first look shows Elang El Gibran and Febby Rastanty as a simple but humorous couple.

The two of them have a romantic relationship like ordinary people in general, but in the end they are faced with complexities that lead to disputes and misunderstandings.
Apart from Elang El Gibran and Febby Rastanty, the first look also features Sisca Saras and Devina Aureel as Febby’s best friends.
“This film wants to invite the audience to understand the people we love through the journey of Agus and Kalis. The Art of Understanding Lovers is also relatable to Gen Z to explore the meaning of love in today’s complex life, so the story in this film will feel heartwarming,” said Susanti.

The Art of Understanding a Lover is an adaptation of the book entitled An Art of Understanding a Lover by Agus Mulyadi which tells the author’s journey in finding true love.
Agus Mulyadi’s romantic journey, which was never smooth, changed when he met Kalis Mardiasih.
This film is Jeihan Angga’s third feature film. Previously, he has worked on Mecca I’m Coming and Just Mom.
In his latest film, Jeihan wants to convey the struggle of a couple in understanding love through his simple characters.
“As the current generation is faced with the increasingly complex meaning of love, the film Seni Mengejar Kekasih wants to invite the audience, especially Gen Z viewers, to dive into the struggle to find true love through the simple story between Agus and Kalis,” said Jeihan. (Ant/Z-1)
