The Turkish police arrested 3 Turkish officers in Hatay province, in connection with the killing of two Syrian citizens, following the “Gendarmerie” forces arrested 8 Syrians, detained them in the center and subjected them to severe torture.

The lawyer, who is following the case file, stated that Turkish media outlets published news regarding eight Syrian citizens who entered the Turkish city of Hatay by smuggling on March 11, where they were arrested by the Turkish gendarmerie forces, and two of them (17 years and 50 years) were forced to drink fuel. (Diesel) to die as a result.

Mazen Alloush, director of the public relations office at the Bab al-Hawa border crossing between Syria and Turkey, announced on Sunday, March 12, in a statement that “the port received this morning, Sunday, a group of citizens, numbering eight, one of whom was a corpse, and the bodies of the other seven had marks on them.” Deep wounds and severe fractures, and they had tried to enter Turkish territory illegally, but the gendarmerie arrested and tortured them.

In turn, Syrian media reported that one of the Syrian citizens who were tortured died later in the hospital, while two others are in the intensive care unit.

After the death of the Syrian citizens, the Public Prosecutor in Reyhanli launched an investigation on charges of “killing people”. In the framework of the investigations, two ordinary officers and a first-class officer were arrested, while three soldiers were conditionally released following their statements were taken.
