The army recovered the bodies of six hostages

The bodies were found and recovered in a joint operation by Shin Bet and the Israeli army.

The Nir Oz and Nirim kibbutzim announced on Tuesday that the bodies of hostages Avraham Munder and Nadav Popplewell, Yagev Buchshtav respectively had been recovered.

“With deep sadness, Kibbutz Nir Oz announces the killing of Avraham Munder while he was being held hostage in Gaza, after months of physical and mental torture,” the Kibbutz statement said.

79-year-old Avraham Munder lived in Kibbutz Nir Oz for more than 50 years. He fought and was wounded in the Six Day War.

He was kidnapped along with his wife Ruth, their daughter Karen and his grandson Ohad. The three family members were released in a hostage deal after 50 days in captivity. Abraham and Ruth’s son Roy was murdered on October 7th.

“The devastating news of the killing of Abraham Munter is further evidence of the urgent need to finalize and implement the agreement for the return of all hostages.

Abraham was captured alive and endured agonizing captivity with his loved ones. He should have returned alive to his family. His killing highlights the delay in implementing the deal that could have saved his life and the lives of other hostages.

The Israeli government, with the help of mediators, must approve the deal on the negotiating table today. This will allow for the recovery of living hostages, a dignified burial for all dead and murdered hostages, and will restore hope to the people of Israel,” the Forum of Families of Hostages and Missing Persons said in a statement.
