The Army Chiefs of Staff and joint operations confirm from Diyala the reopening of the units

The Army Chief of Staff, Lieutenant General Abdul Amir Rashid Yarallah, and the Deputy Commander of Joint Operations, Lieutenant General Qais Khalaf Rahima, confirmed today, Thursday, from Diyala, the reopening of the units, the intensification of the intelligence effort, and the implementation of preemptive operations to pursue terrorist remnants.

A statement by the Ministry of Defense, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), said, “The Chief of Staff of the Army and the Deputy Commander of Joint Operations chaired an expanded security meeting at the headquarters of the Joint Operations Command, to discuss the security situation and develop future plans, in the presence of the Chief of Staff of the Joint Operations Command – Commander of the Ground Forces – Commander.” Diyala Operations – Commander of Diyala Mobilization Operations – Commander of the 1st Infantry Division – Commander of the 9th Armored Division – Commander of Diyala Police – and security agencies.

The statement added, “The leaders presented their briefings on the security situation in the sectors of their responsibility, and according to the challenges, in a way that secures the sectors of operations concerned.”

He pointed out that “there was an extensive discussion of the axes of the meeting by the attendees, pointing out that” the Army Chief of Staff, and the Deputy Commander of Joint Operations, directed the reopening of the sectors, the intensification of the intelligence effort, the continuous updating of plans, and the implementation of preemptive operations, to pursue terrorist remnants.
