The Argentine Valley of the Moon, the stage for the preview of Coldplay’s new album

Buenos Aires, Sep 20 (EFE).- The Valley of the Moon, a desert landscape in the Argentine province of San Juan (west of the country), will be the setting for the preview of the new album by the British group Coldplay, ‘Moon Music’, which will be released on October 4.

According to the record label Warner Music Argentina and the radio stations involved in the “unique experience”, at dusk on October 1, a select group of fans of the band led by Chris Martin and guests will attend an immersive pre-listening – in which all attendees will hear the songs through headphones – in the middle of the Ischigualasto Provincial Park, in the aforementioned province.

Argentine radio stations FM Aspen (Buenos Aires), Cadena 3 (Córdoba), Cadena Heat (Córdoba), Estación del Sol (Mendoza) and FM Vida (Rosario) have launched a competition on social media to obtain these coveted spots.

“The band will not be present at the experience,” they clarified.

The expectation for the event is such that even the governor of the province, Marcelo Orrego, expressed on his X account his “deep joy and gratitude” to Coldplay “for choosing such an iconic and wonderful place” in San Juan.

“As governor, and especially as a San Juan resident, it is a great pride to know that this unique stage will reach the world through admired and recognized artists. Hosting the MOON MUSIC Experience is a true honor for San Juan,” he added.

The event organizers announced that the event will be listened to with headphones to avoid any noise pollution and that all attendees must take a series of measures to avoid disturbing the environment.

Ischigualasto Park, a protected area since 1971 for its paleontological value and declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2000, covers 62,916 hectares at an altitude of between 1,200 and 1,800 metres above sea level in what is known as the Valley of the Moon due to its desert landscape and monumental rock formations.

On October 4th, the band’s tenth album, ‘Moon Music’, will be released. Two previews have already been released: ‘feelslikeimfallinginlove’ and ‘We Pray’.

The news of this immersive experience, which will be replicated in other places around the world, caused both Coldplay fans and the Argentine media to talk about the group’s ‘romance’ with the South American country.

With the ‘Music of the Spheres’ tour, Coldplay offered ten concerts at the Estadio Más Monumental in Buenos Aires at the end of 2022, breaking the record held by Pink Floyd co-founder Roger Waters.

In the latest single from ‘Moon Music’, ‘We Pray’, the group led by Chris Martin collaborates with the Argentine artist Martina ‘Tini’ Stoessel, with whom he already sang during that series of recitals in Buenos Aires.
