The Argentine t-shirt with a gender perspective | In the Qatar World Cup it will be the first time that the National Team wears a purple model

The Argentine soccer team presented this Monday its alternative violet shirt for the Qatar 2022 World Cup, a design that according to its creators was inspired by “gender equality, diversity and inclusion”, which generated immediate controversy on social networks with fans adept at traditional models.

For the first time in the history of the World Cup, Argentina will have a violet shirt model officially presented at the Floralis Generica in the Plaza de las Naciones Unidas in the City of Buenos Aires, but which has already been launched virtually by the different members of those selected from AFA.

The alternative option to the model launched in July this year will go on sale next Tuesday, September 6. The price published on the official Adidas website for the game shirt model is 28,999 pesos, but there is another package that will cost 16,999 pesos.

The brand that has provided AFA clothing since 2001 reported that the new shirt was designed in violet tones, as it is “inspired by gender equality, an initiative that promotes the values of diversity and inclusion.”

“The National Team’s new alternative shirt conveys a powerful message of gender equality, aligned with the values of diversity and inclusion that our brand promotes. Through sport we have the opportunity to change people’s lives, and football is one of them. of the ideal instruments to transform reality,” said the general manager of adidas Argentina, Pablo Lamo, in the statement released by the company.

In addition to the unprecedented color, the shirt has the flames of the Sun of May on the lower part in lighter tones, which is applied to the back of the neck.

The two models are produced entirely in Argentina with one hundred percent recycled materials. It also uses “Heat Ready” technology that keeps the skin cool and dry at all times, says the manufacturer.

“We present our new alternative shirt for the Qatar World Cup. From the hand of our captain, Leo Messi, let’s go Argentina!”, was the message published by the official account of the Argentine National Team on Twitter.

The image of 10 with the purple shirt quickly went viral and generated a large number of messages on the same social network.

The name of the brand was a trend in our country, with a large number of messages once morest and also in favor of the new model. One of the most replicated messages was from the official account of Sacachispas, the club that plays in the First National and has purple as its main color.
“To think that they did not believe us when we said that Leo was from Saca. With Lila to Qatar,” published the always witty Twitter account of the Villa Soldati club.

In addition to Messi, Angel Di Maria, Rodrigo De Paul, Emiliano “Dibu” Martinez, Giovani Lo Celso, Alejandro “Papu” Gomez, Paulo Dybala, Guido Rodriguez, Julian Alvarez and Joaquin Correa participated in the campaign. Players Mariana Larroquette and Agostina Holzheier were the representatives of the women’s national team.

Those directed by Germán Portanova had been in charge of using the main model in the last Copa América in Colombia, where they got third place.

In one of the group photos of the promotion, Lo Celso and “Papu” Gómez can be seen wearing a jacket of the same color as the substitute shirt. Then the information was leaked that it is a reversible model, its interior is light blue and when it goes on the market it would have a value of more than 25 thousand pesos.

As for the alternative jersey, the selected team always used the color blue in the World Cups, until Russia 2018 premiered the black model. The most curious event occurred at the World Cup in Sweden in 1958 when, out of urgency, the selected team had to wear the yellow jersey of the IFK Malmö club, which gave up its clothing so that the clothing of Argentina and Germany would not be confused.

But this time, the brand was inspired by the violet color that in recent years has become a very representative symbol of the vindication of rights and gender equality.
