The Speaker of the Arab Parliament, Muhammad Al-Yamahi, welcomed the outcomes of the extraordinary Arab-Islamic summit held in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, to discuss the Israeli attacks on Gaza and Lebanon.
He said that these outcomes represent an important step to strengthen Arab and Islamic solidarity and mobilize international efforts to stop the “brutal aggression carried out by the occupying entity” against the Palestinian people for more than a year, in addition to its aggression against the Lebanese Republic.
The Speaker of the Arab Parliament added that the outcomes of this summit included an emphasis on the main constants and starting points on which the Arab and Islamic position on the Palestinian issue is based.
Al-Yamahi affirmed the Arab Parliament’s support for all Arab, Islamic and international efforts aimed at stopping the brutal aggression against the Gaza Strip and Lebanon.
He said that the Riyadh summit represented an important step in defending the justice of the Palestinian cause and coordinating Arab and Islamic positions to stop the brutal aggression carried out by the occupying entity in Palestine and Lebanon.
The Speaker of the Arab Parliament stressed the need for the UN Security Council to assume its legal, moral and political responsibility and issue a binding and decisive decision to immediately stop this aggression and facilitate the entry of humanitarian and medical aid.
Al-Yamahi praised the Riyadh summit’s urging of the International Criminal Court to quickly hold accountable the perpetrators of the crimes of genocide, enforced disappearance, mass graves, forced displacement, and other horrific war crimes and crimes against humanity committed by the occupying entity.
The Speaker of the Arab Parliament appreciated the summit’s call to mobilize international support for the State of Palestine’s accession to the United Nations as a full member.
On Monday, the Arab-Islamic follow-up summit was held in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, with leaders of Arab and Islamic countries to discuss ways to stop the Israeli war on Gaza and Lebanon.
The joint Arab-Islamic summit stressed the necessity of confronting the “brutal Israeli aggression” against the Gaza Strip and Lebanon, and working to end its humanitarian repercussions, warning of the danger of escalation and its regional and international consequences.
The summit called on the UN Security Council to respond to the international consensus and accept Palestine as a full member state in the United Nations, issue a resolution granting the State of Palestine full membership in the United Nations, and form an independent and credible international investigation committee to investigate Israel’s crimes.
The summit called on the international community to implement all the contents of the advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice towards ending the Israeli occupation, removing its effects, and paying compensation for its damages, as soon as possible.
