Books – Mustafa Hamza:

Festival singer Hassan Shakoush sparked controversy following announcing the release of a song called “Good Morning Baby”, due to the similarity of its music to the famous Italian song “Bella ciao”.

A source in the Association of Authors and Composers, in a statement to “Masrawy”, said: “Hassan Shakoush, presents the song with the same melody as the famous Italian song, as it is, and this is not a sentence quote or similarity in the theme.”

And regarding what was reported regarding the existence of a complaint received by the association, from one of the composers, he said: “It has not happened yet.”

Bella Ciao

Its title in Arabic is “Farewell, Jamila”, an Italian folk song, which began to appear in 1906.

The song reappeared during World War II, in the period from 1939 to 1945, and became the official anthem of the Italian leftist resistance, and the song ran in several languages, in various countries of Europe.

The song was presented last year, in the fifth season of the famous Spanish series “La Casa de Papel”, which was shown on the global Netflix platform.

“Good Morning Baby” is the first song presented by festivals singer Hassan Shakoush, following the Syndicate of Musical Professions announced, last September, that the singing license was withdrawn from it, with its final cancellation, following exchanging insults and slander with the popular singer Reda El Bahrawy.
