Dozens of friends of the visual arts and amateur creation attended the opening of the annual exhibition of the Art Workshop of the Municipality of Patra “Kosmos – Mikrokosmos”, which will be hosted until Wednesday 16 October at the premises of “Agora Argyri” on the evening of Wednesday, September 3. .
The exhibition includes more than 100 creations by 400 students (adults and minors), from the departments of painting, ceramics, iconography and art history.
At the opening of the exhibition, the deputy mayor for Culture, Apostolis Aggelis, was present and addressed a greeting, who referred to the effort made by the municipality and the vice-mayor of culture to strengthen the art workshop despite the unfavorable situation and the zero funding of cultural structures by the government.
The head of the Art Workshop, Maria Manesioti, spoke about the goals and the work being done there.
The director of the second chance school in the penitentiary of Agios Stefanos in Patras, Michalis Karageorgiou, referred to the work done by the teachers of the workshop who every year teach prisoners painting, ceramics and hagiography.
The classes of the Art Workshop are taught by: Avramopoulou Ifigenia (painter), Agathou Chrysas (painter), Karali Vasiliki (painter), Karatza Anna (painter), Bressou Claire Ganael (painter), Spiliopoulou Evangelia (painter), Stamou Vasiliki (painter) , Ferentinos Panagiotis (painter), Alexios Fountzoulas (painter, Maria Kanellopoulou (Mermaid), Spyros Methenitis (Ceramic), Petros Lambrinakos (Hagiography), Giannouli Polyxeni (History of Art).
For the winter art season (November 2024 – May 2025), registrations continue in all departments where there are vacancies in the children’s and adult classes.
